Thank you for your comment. The hand studdies where done on much larger canvas's, this is one of the smallest paintings i have ever done, so you will have to excuse my problems with detail. I am used to working much larger.

beautiful shading and i love the colors and texture of the bkgd. im not sure why, but the hair looks a little odd, kinda chunky or something. but it still looks amazing!

Oils do take a bit of getting used to it's true. But it is so worth learning. I hated oils the first time I tried it, but a few years later my professor convinced me to try again. It’s a confusing medium but once you get the hang of it there's so much you can do. If you need any tips on using oils I’d be happy to explain/help. alternatively this book: [link] can help a lot too.
